Privacy

Your code stays on your device.

This page explains exactly what the site stores, what it sends over the network, and what it does not collect. Last updated October 2026.

The short version

Python Compiler Free has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking pixels. Your Python code is executed by your own browser and is not uploaded to a server. The site stores your editor contents and settings in your browser's local storage so you do not lose work on refresh.

Code execution

Python runs in a Web Worker using Pyodide, a WebAssembly build of CPython. The interpreter and any packages you import are downloaded from a public content delivery network. Your source code, input, output, and variables stay inside the browser tab.

There is no server-side execution endpoint. The site is made of static files; it cannot run your code on a server even if it wanted to.

Local storage

The compiler saves the following in localStorage under the keypythoncompilerfree:v1:

  • Your current editor contents.
  • Your editor font size, execution time limit, panel width, and light/dark theme preference.

This data never leaves your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings, or by using a private window. The site does not use cookies.

Network requests

Opening the site loads its HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and fonts. When you run code, the browser downloads the Python runtime and imported packages fromjsDelivr. Like any web request, those requests expose your IP address and user agent to the CDN. The site has no control over the CDN's logging or retention practices.

The site does not otherwise call third-party APIs. There are no social embeds or remote images on article pages.

Share links

The share button compresses your code into the URL fragment — the part after the#. Browsers do not send fragments to the server, so shared code is not logged by the site. Anyone with the link can read the code, so do not share programs containing secrets.

Analytics and advertising

There are none. No analytics scripts, no advertising networks, no fingerprinting, and no third-party cookies. The site does not build a profile of you.

Children's privacy

The site is suitable for classroom use and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there are no accounts or submissions, there is no personal data to collect.

Your choices

  • Clear site data to remove locally saved code and settings.
  • Use a private window to avoid persistence entirely.
  • Disable JavaScript to prevent any code execution (the editor will not run).
  • Block the CDN if you do not want the runtime downloaded; Python execution will not work.
